Our Intro to Sewing Class Series is a beginner series of 4 classes designed for individuals who are unfamiliar with their machine and want a starting point. In our month together, we will cover essential supplies, sewing machine parts and maintenance, stitches, fabric basics, reading patterns, and assembly and best practices for seam construction. We will be making a tote bag as our first project together to practice our new skills.
What You Need to Know:
Students will provide their own sewing machines, notions, and project fabric. Mountain Laurel Sewing Company will provide all other learning materials. Special accommodations are available - just ask!
THURSDAYS: Classes will run for four weeks and will be held on Thursdays, August 20, August 27, September 3, and September 17 from 6 pm to 8 pm. (We will skip September 10). Thursday classes will be held at the Historic Smithton Inn, 900 W. Main Street, Ephrata PA. Class price includes voucher for glass of wine or a beverage of your choice from on-site wine tasting room. Free on-site parking is available!
SATURDAYS: Classes will run for four weeks and be held at my home in Ephrata from 1 - 3 pm. Address will be sent to all students upon booking your class.
Round one will be on August 29, September 5, September 12, and September 19
Round two will be on October 3, 10, 17, and 24
Round three will be on November 7, 14, 21, and 28
